“Over the past several weeks we have witnessed a series of decisions from the US Supreme Court that have changed the landscape in the fight for health equity and social justice.
From gun control, to reproductive health, to climate policy, these decisions will have lasting impacts on all Americans but the implications for marginalized and underserved communities is particularly concerning. There is now greater urgency in breaking down the barriers to care that so many populations, especially people of color, face every day.
The actions taken in the wake of these decisions will undoubtedly have ripple effects for years and generations to come — on individuals, families, communities, and our health care system. For those of us committed to creating a more equitable, accessible, and integrated health system, we will need an even greater commitment to our work and to the ways in which we support our partners and employees.
At CareQuest Institute, we will continue the work of dismantling systemic barriers to optimal health. We recognize that the work may get more challenging, and we are up to the task. We will continue to fight for more equitable health care for all.”
