Description

The purpose of this session is to raise awareness about oral health value-based care and explain the shift from a fee for service payment system focused on volume to one that is focused on improved health outcomes and lowering the cost of providing care. In both medicine and dentistry, there has been a push to transition to a model of care that rewards quality over quantity and incentivizes prevention and personalization of dental care. Presenters will provide an overview of value-based care with a focus on how FQHC’s are leading the way towards transformation shifting away from fragmented care delivery to an integrated, holistic model of care.  Opportunities and challenges to transitioning to a value-based care delivery model will be discussed.

Upon completion of this session, Michigan FQHC’s will be able to gauge readiness and begin the transition to OHVBC.
