Description

In February, an expert panel established by the American Dental Association (ADA) removed the recommendation for dental practitioners to use lead abdominal aprons or thyroid collars on patients when taking dental x-rays. What do those changes mean for practitioners and patients?

Join CareQuest Institute for a webinar — created in collaboration with the ADA — that will provide an update on patient shielding recommendations and explain the rationale behind them. It will also focus on the updated x-ray recommendations and equip learners with guidance on how to discuss the changes with patients (and their children) who have become accustomed to these practices.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the new patient shielding recommendations during maxillofacial imaging.
  • Examine the rationale for the new shielding and x-ray recommendations.
  • Identify strategies and talking points to address patient questions and concerns about the new shield recommendations.
