Lessons from a Study on Oral Health Care Spending over the Life Span

How do oral health access and outcomes differ among those with Medicaid and those with commercial insurance?

CareQuest Institute researchers recently published an article in the Journal of the American Dental Association exploring that question, presenting one of the most comprehensive life course analyses of spending on oral health care. Using data from more than 31 million Medicaid claims and more than 45 million commercial or Medicare supplemental claims, the research reveals the complexities of the current dental service environment and a lack of equitable access to oral health care. 

In this webinar, article authors will explore key research findings that demonstrate the importance of understanding and addressing the factors that impact oral health status at every stage of life and the impact of oral health status on overall health and life trajectory. They’ll also discuss CareQuest Institute’s ongoing initiatives to create a more accessible, equitable, and integrated health system.
