How to Use the Microlearning Modules
Each self-paced microlearning module takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and can be incorporated into classroom, laboratory, simulation, or clinical instruction. Faculty can assign modules before class to introduce key concepts, integrate them into classroom instruction, or use them after class to reinforce and extend student learning. Students receive a Certificate of Completion after successfully completing each module.
Assigning a Microlearning Module
To assign a microlearning module, select Learn More beneath the module you would like your students to complete. Share the module link with your students, along with the titles of the modules you would like them to complete and any instructions for submitting their certificate(s) of completion. Modules may be assigned individually or as part of an entire learning track, depending on your instructional goals.

- Complete the assigned module(s).
Certificate of Completion
After successfully completing each assigned module, a Certificate of Completion will be emailed to the address you used to register. You can also download your Certificate(s) of Completion at any time from My Learning.
Submit your Certificate(s) of Completion according to your instructor’s instructions.

Understand dental caries as a dynamic, biofilm-mediated disease process and explore the biological factors that drive demineralization and remineralization.
Module 2: Caries Risk Assessment
Learn how to identify disease indicators, risk factors, and protective factors to evaluate an individual’s likelihood of developing future caries.
Module 3: Risk Categories and Their Meaning
Interpret low-, moderate-, high-, and extreme-risk classifications and understand how risk status guides clinical decision making.
Module 4: Matching Treatment to Risk
Apply risk-based principles to select preventive and therapeutic interventions that align with each patient’s caries risk.
Module 5: Non-Operative vs. Operative Care
Compare non-operative disease management with restorative treatment and determine when each approach is appropriate.
Module 6: Remineralization Strategies
Explore evidence-based approaches that promote remineralization and slow or reverse early carious lesions.
Module 7: Fluoride Use and Selection
Review available fluoride therapies and learn how to select the most appropriate option based on patient risk.
Module 8: Sealants and Prevention
Understand when pit-and-fissure sealants are indicated and how they contribute to comprehensive caries prevention.
Module 9: Levels of Prevention
Differentiate primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention and apply these concepts to caries management.
Module 10: Behavioral Risk Factors
