Continued support to the Los Angeles Trust for Children's Health, in partnership with LAUSD and the PRC, to expand their current district-wide intervention to address the oral health of elementary school aged children. Their partnership's overarching long term goal is to develop an Oral Health Initiative that will reduce dental disease in the target population by 25% in five years. For this renewal grant, they will continue to partner with other stakeholders to develop a robust prevention, early intervention and treatment program beginning in one local school district. Outcomes expected include a community-wide oral health education campaign; universal screening, fluoride varnishing, and tertiary care referral at 8 Local District 2 elementary school sites; LAUSD oral health policy adoption; and identification of sustainable funding mechanisms.
