Continued support to the National Children’s Oral Health Foundation to build a
grassroots effort to provide oral health education for targeted underserved populations.
This project will focus on fully integrating NCOHF's signature programs into D.C. and
surrounding communities to encourage positive oral health behaviors. All activities will layer
education for parents and caregivers with messages stressing oral health's inextricable link
with overall health. Education will be disseminated through community partners, students
and dental professionals and Community Health Workers that will provide simple steps to
improve oral health behaviors in underserved communities. Preventive and restorative
services will be provided by volunteer dentist though NCOHF's Tomorrow Smiles program
and NCOHF's existing Affiliate Network. The grant will also maintain the Washington, D.C.
Metro Oral Health Zone as an outcome of engaging community stakeholders and partners
(Including the D.C. Oral Health 2014 grantee).
