The University of the Pacific will expand the Virtual Dental Home: Enhancement, Policy and Spread project to improve oral health care for vulnerable and underserved populations in California. This grantee has demonstrated the ability to deploy a community-based, geographically-distributed, telehealth-facilitated, prevention-and-early-intervention-focused system of care in urban and rural sites and across the age spectrum. It aims to elevate the impact of this model of care through distance collaboration systems and integrating oral health with other communities, enhancing date collection, and improving the analytic capacity of the project to arrive at convincing data about the health and cost benefits of the model with financial and business modeling that can be used to plan for the spread of this model to additional sites, populations and delivery systems, and enhance collaboration, policy and reimbursement reform.
