The Mississippi State Department of Health will implement a plan to ensure that children and families have access to preventive and comprehensive dental services through the collaborative work of medical and dental professionals. Key stakeholders will join forces to disseminate oral health promotional materials aligned with the national Ad Council campaign, engage medical professionals in oral health screening and preventive service services, partner with community-based organizations to develop creative methods to integrate oral health education into their programs, and build support for school-based oral health prevention programs. The Mississippi Oral Health Coalition (MOCHA) will develop leadership skills across the state to champion oral health and support regional coalitions as they build capacity to advocate for community needs.
