The Michigan Oral Health Coalition will implement a plan to inspire communities to create networks of innovation, advocacy and leadership to improve the oral health of children and adults. These community networks will align data and resources and create effective approaches to prevent and manage oral disease that can be replicated in other communities. Michigan Oral Health Coalition will support the establishment of eight county coalitions, each with guiding principles, volunteer capacity and collaborative structure to address priority populations. The Coalition will create case studies evaluating milestones, accomplishments and processes to inform further activity in Michigan. Further, there will be an increase in medical providers certified to apply fluoride varnish during well child visits, supported by enhanced Medicaid reimbursement rates closer to the national average.
