This grant supports the Georgia Association for Primary Health Care (GAPHC) in strengthening and expanding the dental safety net in Georgia by promoting interprofessional activities, focusing on the importance of oral health and the need for strong leadership, and promoting a statewide effort for safety net expansion to improve sustainability and effectiveness of the oral health care delivery system. GAPHC will convene a state level meeting of FQHCs to foster a more focused approach to promoting optimal dental care among FQHC patients and to engage board-level involvement/interest in the project. GAPHC has received significant attention for their successes in Health Information Technology. State funding has facilitated GAPHC to begin implementing a Health Information Exchange for all Georgia FQHCs – these successes support GAPHC’s leadership capabilities and strong collaborative network.
