Florida Public Health Institute (FPHI) will build an oral health literacy messaging strategic plan that will expand its development of written and multimedia messages to be used by oral health coalitions throughout the state. FPHI will expand medical-dental collaboration by promoting the alliance between the Florida Oral Health Coalition and private practice dentists and the expansion of oral health services in private medical settings. To implement a statewide system of oral health metrics, FPHI will develop strategies with Head Start and selected schools to broaden the training and use of the Oral Health Basic Screening Survey and provide county information on emergency room visits due to untreated oral health conditions to increase awareness of oral health prevention and treatment issues.
