The proposed project is community-driven to address access to oral health care, a critical issue in Washington D.C. An action plan will be developed focusing on analyzing a leadership and financing model, reimbursement rates, and scope of practice, as well as moving beyond the usual and customary providers to engage physicians and other non-dental licensed independent practitioners as part of the oral health care delivery system. The plan will be implemented relying on a multidisciplinary stakeholder group, convened through a planning framework known as MAPP—Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships.
