This grant strengthens the ability of the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers (MLCHC) to support member CHCs through advocacy, technical assistance, and general guidance on oral health issues. The Oral Health Affairs Manager position at MLCHC is an innovative step toward improving the oral health safety net infrastructure in Massachusetts. MLCHC’s approach to building oral health capacity at the local level in safety net dental clinics is a replicable model for the Foundation’s Strengthening the Oral Health Safety Net Initiative focused on systems-level change in other states. MLCHC’s past accomplishments have a direct effect on access to dental care in Massachusetts. As the unified voice for Community Health Centers at the state level, MLCHC is well positioned to play a vital leadership role in strategically addressing the needs of safety net providers in the Commonwealth.
