This project is working to ensure that all Maryland Medicaid children receive appropriate and consistent dental care through a dental home. This pilot is developing tools and a case management program model that leverages existing resources and programs and assesses outcomes and findings for input into future Maryland dental case management initiatives. The grantee will evaluate the impact of case management in establishing dental homes. The goal is to increase the number of children with a dental home, reduce the number of no-show appointments, strengthen patient and provider perception of the relationship of oral health to systemic health, increase the number of dentists participating in Maryland's Medicaid program, and heighten the awareness of case managers regarding dental issues.
