This grant supports the Wisdom Tooth Project (WTP), which aims to change the lives of older adults who are especially vulnerable to oral disease. WTP focuses on communicating with practitioners, policymakers, caregivers, and the general public about the oral health needs of older adults and advocating for policies that will lead to change. The grant supports development of an online portal and community to educate stakeholders; provide links to information and community public health resources; connect caregivers, clinicians, and the general public; establish a space for a meaningful discussion of the issues of older adult oral health; and advocate for change in US oral health care insurance legislation.
