Support to Rhode Island Kids Count to implement a plan to move Rhode Island toward creating a sufficient dental provider network to support all very young children with a dental home, which will result in more parents of very young children being able to identify one for their child. A social norm in Rhode Island will be created that all children need access to a dental home starting from when they are very young, and the dental and health care provider networks, family support organizations, and parents will all advance this new norm. The existing network of pediatric dentists will be built on and expanded to better support children in the state. Knowledge of referral practices among health care providers and family support organizations will be improved, and pro-parent messages will be used to motivate parents to identify a dental home for their children.
