Support to the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics to implement a plan to ensure that oral health attitudes, skills, and knowledge of the PA medical community to have expanded, increasing access to preventive care for all children under 5, oral health concepts are a priority among PA families and considered an integral part of overall health, and an active sustainable statewide oral health collaborative network exists that influences the health of young children and acts as a platform for cultural and policy change. Five regional networks of supportive and collaborative medical, dental, and educational professionals will be created to build relationships of individuals with shared goals acting as agents for local oral health policy change. Interdisciplinary medical/dental training will be incorporated into medical and dental residency programs in PA. EPIC Oral Health training will be conducted for medical providers throughout the state to prepare them to offer fluoride varnish application, oral health risk assessments, parent education, and dental referral. Furthermore, AAP/PA will collaborate with other key stakeholders in the state to integrate oral health into the Patient Centered Medical Home.
