Support to the Michigan Oral Health Coalition to implement a plan to inspire communities to create networks of innovation, advocacy, and leadership to improve the oral health of their children and adults. These community networks will align data and resources, and create effective approaches to prevent and manage oral disease that can be replicated in other communities. Michigan Oral Health Coalition will accomplish this by supporting eight county coalitions to establish themselves with guiding principles, volunteer capacity, and collaborative structure and are actively addressing new priority populations. The Coalition will create case studies evaluating its milestones, accomplishments, and processes that can inform further activity in Michigan. Furthermore, there will be a dramatic increase in medical providers certified to apply fluoride varnish during well child visits, which will be supported by enhanced Medicaid reimbursement rates closer to the national average.
