Support to the Maryland Dental Action Coalition to implement a plan to enhance medical/dental collaboration by increasing referrals among health professionals and case managers to oral health professionals, training more medical and dental professionals to provide oral health assessments, anticipatory guidance, preventive oral health services through coordinated care, and improve deficits in oral health competencies of health professionals. The plan also includes the promotion of comprehensive oral health policies in organizations, institutions, and regulations to support collaboration. Furthermore, Maryland Dental Action Coalition will provide support for individual behavior change through education and other community resources, enhancing the sharing and dissemination of oral health preventive practices through an oral health knowledge management system.
