Support to the Florida Public Health Institute to implement a plan to use data collection and analysis, a focus on oral health literacy, and increased collaboration among providers to increase the awareness and utilization of preventative and restorative oral health services in Florida. At the end of two years, FPHI will have fostered the development of a statewide system of oral health data collection and analysis using the ASTDD-BSS as a data collection tool with a focus on institutionalized seniors, emergency room and hospitalization for oral health issues, and children’s oral health data gathered in partnership with county health departments and local coalitions. This data analysis will be synthesized with the Healthy Mouth Healthy Body oral health literacy campaign to build community and policymaker awareness of the importance of oral health prevention. These materials and data will be used to advocate for and educate medical providers on key oral health preventative services.
