Support to the Arizona Dental Foundation to implement a plan to develop the newly-formed American Indian Coalition into an institutionalized collaborative infrastructure and resource for capacity building, training and technical assistance, and policy advocacy that will elevate oral health as a health priority among tribal governments enabling more effective care delivery systems. The tribally driven coalition will integrate oral health as a key component of American Indian norms and culture, while also working to collaborate with existing oral health support systems in the state to better meet the needs of American Indians. The coalition will have five regional committees corresponding to geographic locations of the 22 tribes throughout the state, and by the end of two years will have fully developed infrastructure and begin programmatic action, supported by key stakeholders throughout the state, but driven by the tribes.
