Support to the Proteus Fund Diversity Fellowship to sponsor the partial hosting of one fellow at another site and the development and delivery of program content. The Diversity Fellowship is designed to increase the number of people of color in positions of leadership within philanthropy who are skilled grant makers using a lens of equity and inclusion, and to support grant making to communities of color that is more representative and effective. The Fellowship trains and places qualified professionals of color, with philanthropic host sites to gain the technical skills needed to enter the field of philanthropy. Professional development is supported through strong curriculum, leadership coaching, mentoring and networking opportunities to secure employment at the end of the program. Training opportunities are made available to participating host sites on specific topics related to diversity, race and inclusion as well as effective grantmaking. The Diversity Fellowship program run by Proteus Fund is an innovative and inclusive model of leadership development and grantmaking education designed to increase the number of prospective leaders of color in the philanthropic sector who are skilled in making grants through a lens of equity and inclusion; include a rich practical and theoretical learning component for participant Fellows that directly benefits the host site; and strengthen ties between grantmakers and grantees, particularly within communities of color.
