Support to The Outer Cape Health Service to purchase an Ultrasonic Cleaner to ensure effective instrument sterilization and infection control, and lead aprons for patient x-ray safety for their facility. Outer Cape is currently expanding their health center in Provincetown which includes a dental services suite. The area has a low number of dentists who accept MassHealth and the distance patients must travel to access care is excessive, two significant barriers to optimal care access. There is also a large population that earns too much for public insurance and too little to afford proper dental care. The expansion of the facility that began 2012 will be completed in 2013, and will be open six days a week and staff five full-time dental professionals.
