Support to Northeastern University to engage students from multiple professions in learning about, from, and with each other to improve oral health outcomes. TIPS aims to prepare multiple health professions with team-based competencies to integrate oral health into comprehensive general health care with a focus on prevention and management of oral diseases, oral health literacy, and patient-provider communication. TIPS will: a) engage interprofessional learners across multiple health professions, specifically pharmacy, nursing, physician assistant, public health, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, applied psychology, and health sciences, to incorporate oral health as an essential component of comprehensive health care; b) integrate Smiles for Life: A National Oral Health Curriculum into interprofessional education across these academic programs; and c) leverage learning innovations - technology, instruction, practice, service - to link oral health education to clinical practice.
