Supported to the Dental Lifeline Network for its Donated Dental Services (DDS) program, which coordinates comprehensive dental treatment for individuals with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile and who have no other way to get comprehensive dental care. Dentists and most laboratories participating in the program donate their services to these patients with no other avenue to care access. In its 27 years, has established a national cadre of over 15,000 volunteer dentists and 3,350 dental laboratories, which have donated $239 million in services for 117,000 vulnerable individuals. Through the DDS Safety-Net program supported by the Foundation, $346,500 in comprehensive pro bono dental care will be delivered for 90 for individuals with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile and unable to afford or access treatment in CT, DE, GA, ID, KY, MA, NE, TN, UT, VT, WA, and Washington D.C. DDS will continue to evolve a Medical Triage component to DDS so individuals at unique risk of morbidity, even mortality, from extensive dental infections can be prioritized for assistance if essential treatment is unaffordable. DDS will also continue to evolve a Preventive Dental Health Outreach component in Denver-area dialysis centers.
