Support to the American Dental Association (ADA) to will convene a three-day summit in November 2013 with the intent of developing a comprehensive, integrated national strategy for the prevention of oral disease similar to the 2009 Access to Dental Care Summit. Utilizing a future search model, the ADA has invited representatives from eleven diverse stakeholder groups with a commitment and role in preventive oral health in both clinical and population-based settings, to create a common vision for action. From the 2009 three-day Access to Dental Care Summit, the U.S. National Oral Health Alliance emerged and the fruits of that endeavor are still being borne out today. The Prevention Summit will continue an effective model to engage oral health stakeholders to focus on the role of prevention in the oral health delivery system.
