This investment supports the ADHA’s annual Leadership Summit, through the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion leadership track. The leadership summit, held virtually in January 2021, is designed to empower and promote personal and professional development through three track courses: Leadership in Clinical Practice, Leadership in Education, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. DEI will play a specific role within the summit, there will be a DEI panel to examine the public health crisis rooted in racial inequity and how dental hygienists can work to effect change and advocate for increased diversity in the profession and the opportunities for the ADHA to work collaboratively to eliminate racial injustice and systemic racism in the dental field. Through this grant, the DentaQuest Partnership will have the opportunity to support the DEI track content and decision of panelists. This grant of $20,000 would support costs to run the summit and the DEI track, including consulting, marketing, and virtual platform costs.
