This investment supports the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers to advance medical-dental integration in the state through convenings, trainings, and piloting an alternative payment model for oral health value-based care (OHVB). As Massachusetts Medicaid transitions to value-based care, there is an important opportunity to contribute to data, knowledge, and policy advocacy. Mass League is a respected thought-leader in the state in health care innovation and has been a partner of DentaQuest through the Strengthening the Oral Health Safety Net initiative and the National Oral Health Innovation and Integration Network. Their work aligns with the DentaQuest Partnership priorities to pursue person-centered models of care and expand access to public adult dental benefits. In addition to an OHVB pilot, 2020 work will include assessing readiness in community health centers for value-based care, convening stakeholders around the oral health measure in Massachusetts’ accountable care organizations, collecting data, and building an OHVB dashboard. $95,000 will support staff time, convenings, trainings, and other expenses.
