This investment supports Health Care for All to continue to advocate for improved oral health access, medical-dental integration in the Massachusetts accountable care organizations (ACOs), and comprehensive dental benefits within Medicaid. Their work aligns with the DentaQuest Partnership’s goals to promote health equity, engage grassroots voices in systems-change advocacy, pursue person-centered models of care through value-based transformation, and expand access to public adult dental benefits. Health Care for All has been a DentaQuest partner for more than a decade. As Massachusetts launches new ACOs and transforms MassHealth, Health Care for All continues to play an important role engaging the ACOs, policymakers, and other payors to advance oral health integration in Massachusetts public and private health insurance; leading a coalition committed to advocating for integrated medical-dental care delivery as a part of a health equity framework; and educating policymakers about other legislative and budget priorities related to oral health and health equity. Specifically, Health Care for All will develop an oral health integration toolkit and provide technical assistance to ACOs; monitor integration through their consumer HelpLine; educate policymakers and activate advocates; and execute a target media strategy to support advocacy. $184,406 will support staff time, meetings and events, materials, and other expenses.
