This investment supports the Florida Voices for Health to build a case and campaign to pass a comprehensive adult dental benefit in the Florida Medicaid program while also supporting an expanded oral health workforce in the state. This aligns with the DentaQuest Partnership priorities to promote health equity in Florida, pursue person-centered models of care through interprofessional practice, and expand access to public adult dental benefits. The political or policy opportunity that exists in Florida includes, but is not limited to, the building presence and support for Florida Voices for Health as a lead oral health policy advocacy organization, the bolstering of community engagement through support from Community Catalyst, and the soon to be published Consumer Engagement Report that details both a community perspective and policy analysis for the state and produced by the Florida Institute for Health Innovation. Specific outcomes for 2020 include: the development of a comprehensive case for support and campaign to expand public adult dental coverage in Florida. This includes activities such as storybanking, press conferences, sign-on letters, and online and offline advocacy. $110,000 will support time, travel, and supplies associated with the deliverables as well the development of a communications toolkit and a contract with the Florida Policy Institute who will help craft the Case for Support.
