This investment supports the Missouri Coalition for Oral Health (MCOH) to convene and coordinate statewide oral health policy advocacy focused on protecting the state’s adult dental benefit, expanding access to care, and reducing disparities in health outcomes. This work closely aligns with the DentaQuest Partnership priorities to promote health equity and expand access to public adult dental benefits. MCOH's proposed 2020 work seeks to shift power dynamics and incorporate community voice into statewide and national oral health conversations by expanding the reach and offerings of the coalition; building public awareness about the importance of oral health to overall health; holding a statewide policy convening as well as community listening sessions; cultivate legislative champions and engage in advocacy; and promote teledentistry to improve access. $122,500 will support staff time, travel and meetings, and other administrative expenses.
