In this second year of funding, the HealthPath Foundation of Ohio and Oral Health Ohio continue to support oral health efforts around the state through education, advocacy, and network weaving guided by the state’s standing in the State of Decay Report. Specifically, Oral Health Ohio will work on a Basic Screening Survey for older adults, develop a state oral health plan, partner with school nurses to implement an oral health curriculum and practice guidelines, and promote oral health training among home health workers. This work will move Ohio’s oral health network collectively toward the Oral Health 2020 goals of improving the public perception of the value of oral health to overall health and including oral health in health dialogue and public policy. $64,800 will support the personnel, travel and convening capacity, educational and campaign materials, and advocacy work necessary to implement the project.
