Grant Project Title
School Oral Health Initiative: Strengthening and Growing School Oral Health Programs.
Grantee Address

School-Based Health Alliance
1010 VERMONT AVE NW STE 600
WASHINGTON, DC
United States

This grant provides continued support to the School Based Health Alliance to provide backbone support to the expanding school oral health learning community and participating school districts, as they work to drive, implement and spread greater innovation, action, and change in strengthening and advancing oral health in school-based settings. Through this work, school-based partners are better prepared to advocate for the changes in policy and practice that enable oral health services to be delivered to students in their districts. More generally, the learning collaborative has helped connect the nodes of innovation in school-based oral health services across the country and scale successful evidence-based initiatives, ultimately transforming the delivery of school-based oral health services in the participating schools districts and beyond. In 2019, SBHA will continue to support the learning community, providing resources and technical assistance as needed; synthesize and catalog resources related to sustainable school oral health programs for the network, PCAs, school groups, and SBHA's network; create a sustainability assessment tool and a playbook for schools designed to help them plan, implement, and maintain a comprehensive school oral health program. $175,800 will be used to support staff time, travel and meeting expenses, office operations, and other indirect costs associated with the implementation of this project.
