National: This investment supports the Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) to continue providing technical assistance (TA) to the seven states – Arizona, California, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Texas, Virginia, and Washington – participating in the Medical Oral Health Learning Collaborative (OHLC) as they work toward the two children’s oral health goals of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Oral Health Initiative (OHI). In the proposed third year of the OHLC, CHCS will focus on preparing the participating states for the continuation/sustainability of their oral health programs, as well as on documenting and sharing the OHLC lessons and best practices with Medicaid dental stakeholders nationally. This work would leverage the findings and lessons of these states’ efforts for the benefit of oral health improvement in Medicaid delivery systems across the country. The project aligns with the Oral Health 2020 Goal 4 of eradicating dental disease in children and the target of having 75% of children reach age 5 without a cavity. $88,769 will support the personnel and TA capacity necessary to implement this project.
