Florida: This investments supports the Florida Institute for Health Innovation (FIHI) to expand and strengthen the existing statewide oral health network through the coalescence of the Florida Oral Health Alliance (Florida Alliance), an oral health collaborative comprised of a group of broad-based multi-sector stakeholders. Specifically, FIHI will broaden the state network of oral health agents, create an infrastructure that operates according to the principles of collective impact, and provide the alliance with backbone support. Through the Florida Alliance, FIHI will align stakeholder interests, including those most affected by disparities, to achieve results of improved access to and provision of dental care for Medicaid-eligible children. The proposal aligns with the Oral Health 2020 Goal 4 of eradicating dental disease in children and the target of having 75% of children reach age 5 without a cavity. The work will focus on financing mechanisms and engagement of families, communities, and care providers. $174,996 will support the personnel and stakeholder convening capacity needed to implement the project.
