Massachusetts: This investment supports the Health Law Advocates Dental Health Access Initiative provide advocacy to low-income Massachusetts residents by providing free legal services regarding access to dental care and unaffordable bills to dental providers as well as participating in public policies activities. $10,000 from the President’s Fund will support the Dental Health Access Initiate meet challenges faced by low-income. HLA is the only legal aid organization that provides free legal assistance to resolve unaffordable bills, address coverage issues to households whose income is above 133% of the federal poverty level. This grant will support the personnel costs of pro bono representation of 18 low-income consumers and participation as a steering committee member of the Oral Health Advocacy Task Force.
