This investment supports West Central Dental Resources, Inc. d/b/a Caring Hands Dental Clinic provide outreach oral health services for the elderly population living in nursing homes in Minnesota. Currently, the clinic has five dental chairs servicing six nursing homes. Providing dental services where the patients live eliminates the need for costly patient transportation and makes it safer to deliver treatment. Grant funds will be used to offset the cost of dental supplies and travel expenses, which will allow the clinic to expand its area of operations by servicing more nursing homes. Grant funds provided through the Community Response Fund will improve access to care for an underserved population with special access needs.
