CDA Cares is a two-day free dental clinic taking place on October 6-7, 2017, in Bakersfield, California. There will be approximately 1,900 volunteer dentists, working alongside community volunteers, providing free dental services to 2,000 individuals who would otherwise not receive care or have access to care. The program provides cleanings, fillings, extractions, complete and partial dentures, some root canals on front teeth, oral health education, and assistance in finding a dental home. The main goal is to increase the overall health of individuals by relieving pain and eliminating infection for residents of the community, and to also use this event in order to advocate the need for access to quality and affordable dental care.
