This investment supports Families USA in its efforts to increase awareness among key state and national oral health care stakeholders by developing shared learning and networking opportunities for vested parties. Specifically, Families USA will continue to integrate oral health into its existing communications and networking infrastructure. In early 2017, Families USA hosted and convened a pre-conference session during its Health Action 2017 Conference designed to engage key oral health and health care stakeholders around current health topics, best practices, and recent policy developments. In addition, issues related to oral health were woven throughout the full conference. $100,000 will support personnel time necessary for convening design and execution, meeting space, and staff travel. The proposal primarily aligns with the Oral Health 2020 goal of including an adult dental benefit in publicly funded health coverage and the target that at least 30 states have an extensive Medicaid adult dental benefit.
