National: Support to the Health Resources in Action (HRiA) to conduct trainings and provide technical assistance to three communities across the country around implementing and preserving community water fluoridation (CWF). Using the recently developed online CWF Toolkit, HRiA will invite key stakeholders to develop and nourish a learning community so that they can build a strong network and become capable and confident CWF advocates. Interactive trainings and role-playing, together with opportunities to share lessons learned and real-life scenarios will provide support that advocates need in order to advance CWF in an ongoing, strategic manner. The project will focus on empowering and engaging community, and will advance the systems change outcome of building a strong community prevention and care infrastructure. The proposed project aligns with the Oral Health 2020 goal of eradicating dental disease in children and the target that, by 2020, 85% of children reach age five without a cavity. $100,987 will support staffing, community participation in the learning community, travel, and convening and technical assistance capacity needed to implement the project.
