“There is momentum,” said Michael Monopoli, vice president for grant strategy at CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, a nonprofit that supports the plan. He said that making dental benefits, along with vision and hearing coverage, available to all Medicare beneficiaries and fully incorporating them into the program “would usher in an important change that makes Medicare whole-body coverage.”
