Join Us in Helping Maui Wildfire Victims

CareQuest Institute has pledged $150,000 in donations to help support recovery efforts and fire victims in Maui, where thousands have been displaced and much of the town of Lāhainā has been destroyed.

Organizations

Maui United Way, a nonprofit organization rated four stars on Charity Navigator, has created the Maui Relief Fund, which will go directly toward efforts supporting victims of the fires. Maui United Way is responding to immediate needs via daily grant approvals to existing grassroots organizations that are local and focused on basic needs.

Maui Food Bank, rated four stars on Charity Navigator, is providing meals for thousands of displaced residents.

The Council of Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA) is partnering with Kamehameha Schools, Alakaʻina Foundation Family of Companies, and Kākoʻo Haleakalā to match up to $1 million in community donations for Hawaiians impacted by the devastating wildfires on Maui. Funding will support evolving needs, including shelter, food, financial assistance, and other services as identified by their partners doing critical work to support Maui.

Hawai‘i Community Foundation (HCF), rated four stars on Charity Navigator, is providing financial resources that can be deployed quickly, with a focus on rapid response and recovery for the devastating wildfires on Maui. One hundred percent of the funds will be distributed for community needs.

GlobalGiving, has a four-star rating on Charity Navigator, has provided relief programs since 2004 with $225 million in disaster donations. Donations to this fund will support wildfire relief and recovery efforts in Hawai‘i. Initially, the fund helps first responders meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, medicine, and shelter. As needs emerge, donations will support longer-term recovery efforts run by vetted local organizations in impacted areas, particularly those working with low-income, historically underserved communities.

The Center for Disaster Philanthropy is a nonprofit organization with a four-star rating on Charity Navigator and Candid’s Platinum Transparency seal. Donations will help better position communities to recover and help address the gaps that will emerge after the initial response has passed.

The American Red Cross, has a four-star rating on Charity Navigator. With more than 380 trained disaster workers responding to the wildfires on Maui, the American Red Cross is working tirelessly to deliver compassionate and equitable care to the many who are picking up the pieces following the heartbreaking wildfires in Hawaii. Alongside the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Red Cross is helping transition displaced residents from congregate shelters to hotels.

Direct Relief, rated four stars on Charity Navigator, is working hand in hand with local health care providers and emergency response agencies, ensuring they have the supplies and support needed to care for the injured and those suffering from smoke-related health issues.
